Two times higher thiophene conversion was revealed on NiW catalyst supported on TiO2 nanotubes than those of catalysts supported on alumina and titania. Increased HDS activity of the NiW catalyst supported on TiO2 nanotubes could be related to both a higher amount of W oxysulfide entities in interaction with Ni2+ species observed with XPS analysis and to beneficial effect of titania nanotubes." .
