"The objective of investigation was to compare behavior of four hyper accumulating plants and four willow clones for their ability to accumulate Cd and Zn in the above ground biomass. Hyperaccumulators were tested at extremely contaminated Fluvisol and willows at medium contaminated Cambisol. Identical soil was used for pots as well for field experiments. Hyperaccumulators did not show consistent results between pots and field in the case of Cd. Zn accumulation was similar at both conditions and depended more on plant species. Cd accumulation by willow was similar under both environments and Zn accumulation was significantly higher in field than in pots, probably due to limited volume of soil."@en .
