Flax as an energetic crop is possible to grow on insdustrially contaminated sites. Furthermore, heavy metals bioaccumulation ability of flax caused remediation of contaminated soils by moving them to phytomass. This phytoremediation method is called phytoextraction and it is one of the phytoremediation technologies.
