The technology is based on interferometric measurements provided by terrestrial radar device IBIS-S. The method of radar interferometry enables monitoring of vertical deflections of metal bridges at several points simultaneously. The points need not be signalized by metal corner reflectors since the metal bridge construction usually reflects radar waves very well. Vertical deflections of bridges can be dynamically captured with high sampling frequency (200 Hz) and real-time accuracy up to 0.01 mm (in case of suitable circumstances)."@en .
