In case- study focused on allocation marginal areas in the Czech Republic we tried to examine the level of Czech regional policy and its preparedness to use structural funds of EU. As a spatial indicator of sustainable development we choose emergence and existence of so called marginal areas. Dealing with marginal areas we must take into account the important role of criterion we are concerned. We speak about marginality in according the specifying conditions.
