"Numerical simulations of optical transmission system were used to investigate effects of methods of chromatic dispersion compensation, input optical powers in fibres and the type of optical fiber amplifiers on 10 Gb/s data transmission over standard singlemode fibre. The goal is to find optimal transmission system architecture to accomplish maximum distance between transmitter and receiver without the deployment of in-line amplifiers.
