"Activating methods form an integral part in modern teaching approach where an active participation of students, as well as their individual discovery of new knowledge is emphasized; in accordance with The General Educational Programme (R\u00E1mcov\u00FD vzd\u011Bl\u00E1vac\u00ED program), they develop students' personality and core competences. Educational games are one of frequently used activating methods, while they can be of various forms. In this article, we focus on encrypting; its use in chemistry education is not very common, though it supports interdisciplinary relationships, and develops logical and algorithmic thinking necessary for students not only in laboratory training in chemistry education and computer science, biology or physics education but which is also needed in practical life. Specific examples of encryption use of a student working with the Periodic Table of Elements (PRE) are a part of this article. Students acquire its form and the placement of elements (after becoming familiar with the periodic trends) usually thanks to mnemotechnic devices and tasks aimed at tracing information in the PRE table - encryption can be used to make the form of these tasks more popular."@en .
