"The present book analyses reading and reading literacy of pubescents on the secondary level of primary schools. The research builds on the results of international reading literacy research, in which our students achieved results below the average in the last decade. When dealing with reading literacy within literary education, the issues of reading and reading literacy are often mixed, and low performance in international researches is often believed to originate from the fact that children nowadays scarcely read. The present book therefore firstly deals with reading, and in its second part addresses reading literacy. The research has shown that the reading of today\u00B4s children is no worse than in the past; however, the notable difference lies in greater population differentiation in approaches to a book.
