"2"^^ . . "106663" . . . "This research report comprises main results of some sub-projects solved in the frame of commercial R&D contract for UNIPETROLRPA, division URTE. First sub-projects deals with the search and testing of the new cooling procedure of the polyethylene gas-phase reactor. The external source of electrical refrigeration was specified and relating production enhancement in summer hot days was calculated. The second sub-project was aimed at the energy savings in refining and petrochemical complex. In the report chapter 1 (Emissions), the impact of the new environmental legislation was predicted and technical measures to minimize production/economic losses due to the ecological limitations were suggested and designed. The substitution of the gas turbine to the electrical one is the key part of the next chapter. Other chapters deal with the potential energetic savings in a steam cracker and the energetic utilization of synthetic gas. Third sub-project focuses on the research and practical use of Near Infrared Spectrometry (NIR) for a quality determination of a petrochemical feed and products. Practical use of NIR was tested and recommended for a determination of a soluble part in PP powders. The NIR computation model for the xylene solubles determination was developed and its preciseness was evaluated. The fourth sub-project was focused on the development of novel analytical methods for a structural description of industrial carbon (soot Chezacarb). Among all used methods, the nitrogen sorpthometry exhibits the closest cogency between conductivity and structural data. Mercury porosimetry data revealed that the conductivity is caused by pores narrower than 2 nm.
