"\u00DAst\u00ED nad Labem" . . "This research report comprises main results of three sub-projects solved in the frame of commercial R&D contract for UNIPETROL RPA, division BU I. First sub-projects deals with the research of processing of crude oil heavy fractions and residues connected with visbreaking unit. The influence of visbreaking residue addition (VFCR) on the final properties of bitumen binders was studied. The thermal stability seems to be the key factor being affected negatively by VFCR higher content. The second sub-project was aimed at the experimental study of higher yields of hydrogenated diesel component. A new type of hydrogenation/hydrocracking catalyst with lower metal content and thus much cheaper (A-100) was tested being compared with the classical one. Both catalysts exhibited similar activity (A-100 a little higher) whereas the old one was slightly more stabile with the slower loss of hydrogenation activity. Third sub-project focuses on the optimization of heavy heating oils production in a refining - petrochemical complex. In the first part, the system of analytical characterization of heavy oils was created with respect to national and international standards. Different methods focusing on sedimentation due to ageing were tested and compared.
