"The study focused on the microbiological quality of raw milk sold through milk vending machines in the South Moravian Region. A total of 29 milk samples collected from 9 milk vending machines coming from 6 farms in South Moravian Region were examined. Milk samples were taken into sterile bottles and analyzed for the presence of following microbial groups: the total number of microorganisms (CPM), Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococci, Escherichia coli and pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp. and Listeria monocytogenes. Between the farms were recorded significant differences in the microbiological quality of raw milk. Especialy, detection of pathogenic microorganisms on some farms was recorded repeatedly. We have found that the counts of CPM varried from 8,1.103 to 2,4.105 CFU/ml, Enterobacteriaceae 1,0.101-9,0.103 CFU/ml, Enterococci 1,3.101-3,6.102 CFU/ml. The presence of Escherichia coli was observed in 27 (93.1%) samples and also 32 isolates were obtained. Staphylococcus aureus was detected in 16 (55.2%) samples, and 25 S. aureus isolates were obtained. The ability to produce classical A-E enterotoxins was confirmed only in 2 (8%) strains. In 9 (36%) strains the ability to produce enterotoxin G and I was detected. Salmonella spp. were not detected in any of the examined samples, as well as Campylobacter spp. and Listeria monocytogenes."@en .
