"This study was focused on monitoring of presence and characterization of tetracycline-resistant bacteria Escherichia coli in raw cow's milk. All samples of raw milk came from the same dairy farm in the South Moravian region and were collected in two different time periods with interval of five years. Detection of E. coli was performed and evaluated according to ISO 16649-2, screening of antibiotic resistance was performed by disk diffusion method. For the detection of selected genes encoding resistance to tetracycline - tetA, tetB, tetC, tetG was used polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Out of the 89 samples of raw cow's milk were 84 (94.4%) positive for the presence of E. coli. In total 102 isolates were obtained. There were 50 (49.0%) of isolates resistant to tetracycline. In tetracycline-resistant isolates collected during the years 2005-2006 were detected genes tetB (86.5%) and tetA (8.1%). In two tetracycline-resistant isolates was detected none of the monitored genes. For isolates from 2010-2011, was the presence of gene tetA (81.3%) the most common. The gene tetB was found in 18.7% on tetracycline-resistant isolates. The presence of genes tetC and tetG was not detected in any isolate."@en . "4"^^ . .
