"Our study was aimed to determine the effect of Resveratrol (R ), administered 2 weeks in alcohol solution in a daily dose 3 mg /kg0.75 of body weight, on leukocytes (WBC) and platelets in piglets. Functional parameters of blood cells were determined as luminol enhanced chemiluminiscence for neutrophils and the aggregation by Bohr\u00B4s optic method for platelets. The total radical-trapping antioxidant potential (TRAP) of blood was also observed. Other control piglets obtained alcohol solution without R. Administration of R caused a significant decrease of WBC (P < 0.01) and of the neutrophils (P < 0.01) at the end of the first week. After two weeks no further reduction of this parameter was found. In controls a significant (P < 0.01) decrease of WBC was observed only at the end of the experiment and the number of neutrophils remained unchanged.
