"Fifty three male turkeys of the BUT Big 6 hybrid combination fed commercial feed mixture were slaughtered at the age of 20 weeks in the range of the live weight 12 to 24 kg. Total lipid and 15 fatty acids were determined in breast meat (BM) and thigh meat (TM).Total lipid (2.47 and 1.47 g/100 g; P<0.01) and arachidonic acid (73 and 50 mg/100 g, P<0.01) content were higher in TM than in BM. No relationship between live weight reached at the age of 20 weeks and total lipid content was found in either tissue (R2 = 10-4; P>0.05).
