"Growing of grapevine varieties with an increased resistance to fungal diseases represents one of possible ways to organic wine production. Resistant varieties are produced also in the Czech Republic. Within the framework of this research, breeding parameters and performance of the following four new resistant varieties used for making of red wine were analysed and evaluated, viz. Cerason, Laurot, Kofranka and Marlen which is a hybrid Merlan x Fratava. Blaufrankish was used as control. Experiments were performed in our vineyard in Lednice na Morav\u011B within the period 2007-2009. These varieties are characterised by a high yielding potential. The highest yield was recorded on plots with the variety Laurot (4.19 kg per vine), followed by Kofranka (3.61 kg per vine) and Cerason (3.34 kg per vine). However, a high sugar content was recorded even at higher yields (viz. Laurot 20.8 \u00B0KMW and Cerason 20.2\u00B0KMW) while the content of titratable acids was comparable with that of Blaufrankish. Evaluated were also correlations existing between qulitative and quantitative parameters. The highest significant correlation was found out between the size of berries and their sugar content (r = - 0.53). To optimize the quality of grapes it is recommended to control the yield by means of removal of grapes during the growing season. The best results were obtained with varieties Laurot, Cerason, and Kofranka. These new resistant varieties can be recommended for growing under conditions of organic viticulture for production of red and ros\u00E9 wines."@en .
