Freshly collected soil samples were sieved (2 mm mesh) and basal respiration was monitored under laboratory contitions using Vaisala GMT 222 apparatus. Soil organic matter quality was studied using non destructive spectrometric method (UV-VIS and SFS spectrometry) and by classical fractionation. The aim of our work was to compare basal respiration, kontent and quality of humus in selected subtypes of Cambisols.
