"The production of etylene by shoots of birch (Betula pendula Roth.) and the levels of two growth regulators, abscisic acid (ABA) and indolyl-3-acetic acid (IAA), were studied in the course of the year. Shoots from stresses stands produced significantly higher and higly significantly higher levels of etylene, they contained higher levels of ABA than shoots from stands that were not exposed to stress.The increased production of ethylene was in accodance with budding. We used 2-chlorethyphosphoniic acid (CEPA) to simulate the stress conditions, the result being a highly significantly higher production of etylene and increased levels of both IAA and ABA in the buds."@en .
