"The paper deals with the economic analysis of wood-based structures from the viewpoint of their life cycle. There is a long-term surplus of lightweight wood raw material in the Czech Republic. The demand for community and industrial buildings continues to be high and the increased unemployment in the period of the contemporary economic crisis results in the increased occurrence of relatively cheap labour force on the market. The combination of these three factors creates a space for a further possible growth in the proportion of wood structures on the building market in the Czech Republic. The market of wood structures has been developing for a number of years and can be considered established today. Individual technologies of producing wood-based structures have been already developed and tested. The quality of these structures slightly increases with time.
