To understand soil and plant revitalization in these extreme habitats at a initial stage of restoration, we evaluated the initial soil properties of 2 geochemically different habitats groups (quarries in limestones and contrastly in different sandstones). Although the soil properties and biological activity did not differ significantly over 3 years - it was higher than was expected. This acknowledge that soil formation in closed quarries is mainly secondary migration process rather than a in-situ weathering process.
