The aim of the contribution is to inform about the found relationship between the stress response history of the crown structure and dendroclimatological analysis of trees. In comparison with other mountain areas with similar defoliation rate, Norway spruce forest stands in the Silesian Beskids Mts. had lower percentage of secondary shoots.
