"Czech forestry is facing a problem of timber abundance and low market price. At the same time, the production of building industry has been for a long time increasing every year by 6-10%. However, the share of wood structures in the total volume of building industry production amounts to only slightly above two percent. In this parameter, the Czech Republic heavily lags behind many advanced countries in which the indicator ranges between 10-80%. Enhanced marketing and public relations in the field of wood structures are necessary for the solution of this unfavourable situation. The potential for improvement is still relatively high. Support to the manufacture and sales of wood structures and search of new ways to increase sales of wood structures represent the solution of problems that would help the entire forest and timber industry, improving at the same time the housing situation, abating damages to environment and reducing the consumption of non-renewable natural resources."@en .
