"The study deals with the long-term (2001-2005) monitoring of DOC content in seepage waters sampled from two differently managed forest plots in Moravian-Silesian Beskids. Simultaneously, the input of DOC in precipitation and throughfall is evaluated. DOC concentration increases with the stand density. Mean annual concentration of DOC in 2001- 2005 were 1.1 -- 2.6 mg C/l in the open area, 2.6 -- 6.1 mg C/l on the thinner stand and 4.2 -- 7.1 mg C/l in throughfall on the stand with higher density. Mean annual concentration of DOC in seepage waters in 201 -- 2005 was 24.5 -- 45.4 mg C/ l on the limed plot and 17,4 -- 31,0 mg C/l on the not limed plot. DOC concentrations in seepage water sampled under the surface humus layer were significantly higher during the monitored period on the limed plot when compared with the not limed plot (p = 6,61.10-5, alfa = 0,05), which means that liming has been found to increase DOC concentration in soil solution of humus layer."@en . . .
