"Nowadays, regeneration of pedunculate oak in floodplain forest of the Czech republic is carried out exclusively by artificial methods, sawing or planting after large-scale clear felling. Nevertheless, forest management should be aimed at an application of close-to-nature technological procedures. This is why a research facility was established in floodplain forests managed by the \u017Didlochovice Forest Enterprise of LCR -- Forest District of Lan\u017Ehot in South Moravia to verify technologies which would enable a utilization of possible abundant crop of acorns for the natural regeneration of pedunculate oak stands. The research facility was divided into regeneration plots with a different duration of parent stand shelter of varied density, with or without soil preparation, and with or without weed control measures. The plots and transects aligned in them were studied for the number of seedlings of all woody species and weed coverage.
