"Anthocyanidin synthase (ANS) is an enzyme of the biosynthetic pathway of anthocyanin, which catalyzes convertion from luecoanthocyanidins to anthocyanidins. In our experiment we used wheat (Triticum aestivum L.): two genotypes with blue aleurone, two genotypes with purple pericarp and one genotype with white caryopsis (without anthocyanins). The samples were taken every five days (10th-40th day) after the discovery of the anthers (post anthesis- dpa). From caryopses was isolated total RNA and transcription from RNA to cDNA was performed. Specific primers for each genome of wheat were designed by Primer3 based on the sequences for ANS genes retrieved from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database.
