"The project's objective was to study the current ten candidate genes (HMGCR, FTO, LCAT, MC4R, LPIN1, SERCA1, SERPINE1, TNNI2, FABP3, PLIN) and determine their influence on porcine meat quality characteristics (percentages of intramuscular fat, fatty acids and total cholesterol amount in blood plasma). Polymorphisms in HMGCR, FTO, LCAT, MC4R, LPIN1, SERPINE1, TNNI2, FABP3, PLIN genes were detected by the PCR-RFLP method. In case of SERCA1 gene the polymorphism detection was performed by sequencing. There were 88 purebred pigs tested of the Czech Large White breed. In the association analysis there was found an influence of SERPINE and FABP3 genes to the percentages of intramuscular fat. In our research groups HMGCR, LPIN1, SERCA1, FABP3, PLIN were associated with percentage proportion of fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic). Further was identified associations of genes FTO, LCAT, LPIN1, SERPINE1, PLIN to the content of total cholesterol amount in blood plasma.
