"Erodibility of soil by water and wind was determined in the locality of Ostro\u017Esk\u00E1 Nov\u00E1 Ves (foothills of B\u00EDl\u00E9 Karpaty Mountains), where both types of erosion occur on heavy-textured soils. Water erosion was calculated by using of USLE and the loss of soil of the whole cadastral area is 5258 t per year. Wind erosion was calculated as potential and real one. The potential wind erodobility of the chosen area is 0,09 t.ha-1 per year and the real one goes from 1,44 to 20,58 g.m-2. Loss of soil by water and wind exceeds the acceptable limit of 10 t.ha-1 per year (1,4 g.m-2) for deep soils of the area. Wind erosion is probably more serious problem in the area, because the used equations do not respect fact that wind erosion can occur on heavy-textured soils, they come from presumption of nonerodibility of clay soils.
