"The objective of the field experiment was to asses the effect of nitrogen applied together with a foliar application of microelements (B, Zn a Mo) on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of sunflower yield. The increased doses of N, B and Zn fertilizers had a positive effect on the dry matter yield of sunflower biomass during the vegetation. The applications of increasing doses of nitrogen had a positive and statistically significant effect on the achenes yield. The yields of anchenes increased by 79 %, 124 % a 144 % in the variants fertilized with 60, 90 and 120 kg nitrogen per hectare, respectively, as compared to the control variant. Micronutrients (especially B) fertilization increased the achenes yields significantly (P < 0.05). The highest yield increase was found at the application of 300 g.ha-1 of boron.
