"Climate change is a reality and primarily is based on increasing air temperatures brought about by higher concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. According to scenarios of climate change the sum of precipitation in the Czech Republic will probably remain the same, but its distribution will be more differentiated in terms of the seasons (more in winter, less in the summer) as well as intensity (more frequent torrential rainfall). A stronger reaction to these facts can be expected in terms of a higher rate of photosynthesis of plants of the C3 type, i.e. the majority of field crops in our conditions (with the exception of maize) where average yields are anticipated to increase by as much as 17 %.
