"This paper presents the ongoing research and its results on the topic of %22Identification of characteristics affecting the success of Czech small and medium-sized enterprises in foreign markets%22. The necessary data were obtained from the Czech SMEs which did business in foreign markets. Based on the obtained data the exporting company were evaluated by using defined success indicators and categorized to a %22very successful%22, %22successful%22 or %22failed%22 SMEs with regard to their international activities. An analysis of the dependency characteristics of businesses and categories in which businesses have been included was done after that. That was done for each respondent. Based on this analysis there were found precisely those characteristics that affect the success of Czech SMEs on foreign markets. Among characteristics belong sector in which companies operate, nature of supply - whether the products and services, only goods or only services, and previous experience of employees with expansion into foreign markets. Other characteristics affecting success in foreign markets, among these characteristics belong the targets of export activities of the company, the share of production sold in foreign markets in total output, frequency of communication management companies with foreign partners and the number of years, after which came the profitability of activities on foreign markets."@en .
