"The paper presents an alternative approach to mathematical lessons for students of economical universities. The suggested approach aims to improve the students' skills in identification of the managerial problem and suggestion of relevant mathematical techniques for its solution. The method is based on alternative conception of mathematical lessons and it is demonstrated on the case study in which the traditional approach is compared to the alternative one.
