"The main aim of the theoretical study is to provide an overview and to compare test systems that can be currently used for evaluation of physical fitness in school-aged individuals in the Czech Republic. EUROFIT, FITNESSGRAM, INDARES, OVOV and UNIFITTEST are currently the most widely used test systems in our country. Each of them has certain advantages and disadvantages in their usage and in the measured data interpretation. The comparative method based on eight criteria set out as the most suitable the test battery FITNESSGRAM despite minor shortcomings (absence of normativem referenced standards and higher cost of necessary equipment). FITNESSGRAM reflects modern approaches to the evaluation of physical fitness. The presented material is a contribution to the clarification of the meaning and the development of the physical fitness concept. From a practical point of view this will help physical education teachers to decide which test system to choose according to the specific school conditions."@en . .
