"The paper presents the results of a study aimed at the correlations between selected personality traits, life satisfaction and its components with respect to the length of teaching experience in current teachers in the segment of elementary education. The survey included a total of 204 Czech teachers (100% women) from elementary schools. The average age of the monitored sample was 42.7+-8.19 years. The results of the study indicate that female teachers report lower values of overall life satisfaction compared with reference values. The personality trait of neuroticism significantly negatively corresponds with the overall level of life satisfaction. The level of extraversion and conscientiousness significantly positively corresponds with life satisfaction in female teachers. Female teachers with up to 10 years of teaching experience report the highest values of the life satisfaction index, whereas the lowest level of life satisfaction is reported by teachers with experience between 20 and 30 years. Other outcomes are presented and discussed in detail in the paper. The outcomes of the paper enrich theoretical findings in the area; the presented results can be used in a practical context in work with the monitored target group. In particular, the results can be used in programmes aimed at primary health prevention in current teachers, as this type of occupation is typical for long-term above-threshold load." .
