"The bone tissue quality in old age is dependent on the interaction of many factors especially relating to lifestyle. We aimed at evaluating the relationship of physical activity and body composition to bone density of proximal femur in postmenopausal women. We invited 61 women from University of the Third Age, Palack\u00FD University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. Body composition, bone mineral density of proximal femur (BMD, g/cm2) and bone mineral content (BMC, g) measurements were performed using Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry methodology. We used accelerometer ActiGraph GT1M for physical activity measurement. The mean age and weight were 63.15 +- 4.87 years. According to step recommendation 31 women were active (} 10 000 steps/day) and 30 women were insufficient active ({ 10 000 steps/day). We noted only small effect size in z-score (p = 0.570; \u00E9ta2 = 0.01) and BMC (p = 0.562; \u00E9ta2 = 0.01) of Ward's triangle as well as the BMC of trochanter major (p = 0.555; \u00E9ta2 = 0.01)."@en . .
