"We aimed at evaluating the relationship of fat mass and physical activity to bone mass in postmenopausal women. We invited 67 women from University of the Third Age (U3A) Palacky University in Olomouc. They underwent the measuring of body composition, bone density, intensity and volume of physical activity. Body composition and bone mineral density (BMD) measurements were performed using Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry methodology (DXA) and bioelectrical impedance (InBody 720, Tanita BC-418). We use accelerometer ActiGraph GT1M for physical activity measurement. The mean age and weight were 63.15 +- 4.87 years and 71.17 +- 13.29 kilograms, respectively. Accordingly to the body mass index (BMI), 37.3 % were of normal weight, 35.8 % of the patients were overweight and 26.7 % were obese. Overweight or obese women had significantly higher bone mass.
