"Introduction: The risk of fracturing as a result of a fall is a serious risk for people with osteoporosis. The aim of the study was to assess the influence of the controlled movement activity on the postural stability. Methods: The 43 women with osteoporosis were divided into two groups: first group (n = 29, 64.6 years) participated in long-term movement activities, the second group (n = 14, 65.5 years) did not participate. Both groups took part in four different types of stand with duration of 30 s. Two force plates Kistler were used for the assessment of the postural stability parameters. Results: We didn't find any significant differences between the groups in the pattern of the changes in the centre of pressure (COP) sway. The velocity of the COP position changes is greater (p{0.05) in the group of patients without controlled movement activities.
