The aim of this research is to investigate if the Paralympic School Day, a project of the European Paralympic Committee, has an effect on attitudes of elementary school children toward children with a disability. 48 children (mean age = 10.7) were assessed before and after the Paralympic School Day. Two questionnaires were used (Czech version of Children?s Attitude Toward Integrated Physical Education-Revised (CAIPE-CZ) & Siperstein?s Adjective Checklist). Results of the pre- and post-test show that 33 children had a positive change on the CAIPE-CZ. The means differ significantly (alpha = 0,00) with a medium effect size (ES = 0,366). Comparable results are found with the Adjective Checklist, with a small ES (alpha = 0,007; ES = 0,143). Most children have a change in attitude after following the Paralympic School Day. Although the change is rather small, it was found significant."@en . . . "Bratislava" . . "Univerzita Komensk\u00E9ho v Bratislave" . . . "Behaviour is influenced by attitudes existing in society.
