"The conducted research was aimed at development of methodology for thickening of sludge from wastewater treatment plants using metallic iron nanoparticles. Dewatering and sludge thickening is one of the basic operations in the technology of processing, use and disposal of sludge from wastewater treatment plants. Several samples of sewage sludges from different wastewater treatment plants were delivered by company Ekoprogres. Several different types of magnetic particles were injected into the sludge at RCPTM laboratories and their impact on the effectiveness of magnetic separation was evaluated from the point view of their impact on the efficiency of magnetic method sludge thickening. Magnetic separation of active sludge from wastewater treatment plants has proved to be a real alternative to existing methods of sludge thickening."@en .
