More versatile and appropriate method for strongly polluted samples (e.g. waste water) uses extraction of water sample by dichloromethane, derivatization by diazomethane and analysis by GC/MS in selected ion monitoring mode. For less polluted samples (e.g. surface water) is suitable method based on solid phase extraction, derivatization by diazomethane or N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetemide (BSTFA) and analysis by GC/MS in selected ion monitoring mode. As a suitable quantification technique is recommended method of standard addition or internal standard method.
