The OpenWebGLobe is built with WebGL technology and based on HTML5 specification. No plug-in or installation process is required due to chosen technologies compared to e.g. the Google Earth. The globe is rendered directly in the web browser. It supports web map standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS etc.), elevation data, own map layers as well as 3D point cloud data sets. It allows the combination of both satellite and elevation data. In fact, the satellite and thematic data could be drawn over the digital terrain model which brings benefit of 3D point of view. The project is developed at FHNW University in Muttenz, Switzerland but it is available for developers all over the world. The source code (Software Developer Kit - SDK) is available on the GitHub repository and could be downloaded, edited and extended under the MIT license for free. The client focused on the Czech Republic has been developed as case study. It contains satellite and elevation data for area of the Czech Republic, moreover there is a list with predefined locations for %22fly-to%22 navigation." . .
