"This paper reviews the current state of understanding the interactions between the most important cucurbit crops C. melo, C. sativus, C. pepo, C. maxima, C. lanatus and cucurbit powdery mildew, the host-parasite specificity, host range, sources of resistance, the genetic control of host reactions, and overall variation within the pathogen (pathotypes and races) on individual and population levels. New strategy of cucurbit powdery mildew (CPM) pathotypes and races determination, designation and utilization on international scale is proposed by this paper. The proposed set for pathotypes determination includes 6 genotypes from three genera (Cucumis, Cucurbita, Citrullus), represented by five species, the basic information on their host-parasite specificity and variability is available. A sextet coding system was developed for designation of distinct pathotypes races of CPM. For detection of races is proposed the set of 18 genotypes of Cucumis melo with known race specific resistance. Both proposed diff"@en . . . "RIV/61989592:15310/08:00005265" . . .
