"The purpose of the one-day visit of Emperor Charles I. in Olomouc December 16, 1917 was the sovereign's participation in the consecration of the restored military Church of Our Lady of the Snows and the military cemetery in Olomouc-\u010Cernov\u00EDr (founded in 1869). Besides General-Oberst Joseph Archduke Joseph Ferdinand of Austria-Tuscany and it Highest Hofmeister Feldmarschalleutnant baron von Pfeiffertitz, the most senior office present both consecrations was the Feldmarschalleutnant Adam Brandner nobleman von Wolfszahn, one of the most notable members of the Austro-Hungarian generals in World War 1. He was born April 3, 1857 as the son of a German peasant in Transylvania (in present-day Romania), and he established his military career solely on their abilities and courage, he has proved in his %22baptism of fire%22 during the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the years 1878-1884. He proceeded then in command positions at Landwehr infantry regiments, in the years 1911-1914 he commanded a Oberst and later as Generalmajor 92nd Landwehr Infantry Brigade stationed in Olomouc. After the outbreak of World War 1 July 28, 1914 this brigade was moved to the eastern front; Generalmajor Brandner was honored for the bravery and strategic forethought during military operations. He was therefore on September 17, 1914 appointed commander of the 46th Army Division. However in February 1915 Generalmajor Brandner had left the front due to his injuries and after his recovery he was oppointed deputy inspector of general reserve units. May 21, 1915 he was promoted to Feldmarschalleutnant with the title %22Excellency%22. In November of the same year Feldmarschalleutnant Brandner became military commander of Cracow, the most important garrison in the east of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He devoted special care to the establishment of military cemeteries. In the spring of 1917 he stayed with his family in Olomouc. In May 1918 he was retired for health reasons."@en .
