"The samples of runoff from roads in Ostrava were taken during 2013 in three seasons - winter, spring, summer. The samples were taken according to %22Urban Stormwater BMP Performance Monitoring: A Guidance Manual for Meeting the National Stormwater BMP Database Requirements%22. The maps of areal distribution of organic matter in runoff from roads for winter, spring and summer seasons were created on the basis measured concentrations of organic matter. The concentrations of organic matter determined in different seasons were statistically analyzed (identification of the distribution of data using box plots, identification of outliers). Subsequently, the basic statistical parameters were calculated (median, arithmetic mean, coefficient of variation, etc.). The main sources of organic matter in runoff from roads were identified on the basis of the above results. The mean concentration of organic matter in the monitored periods showed only slight differences. The median value of concentration in the winter was 281.0 mg/L in the range of 66.3 to 356.0 mg/L. Concentrations in the spring ranged from 42.2 to 1730.0 mg/L with a median value 266 mg/L. A slightly higher content of organic matter in runoff from roads were measured in the summer, the median value was 295.0 mg/L in the range 104.0 to 396.0 mg/L."@en . .
