Since 2011 the European Union and its Member States have taken a series of important decisions that will mean stronger economic and budgetary coordination for the EU as a whole and for the euro area in particular. All Member states have committed to achieving Europe 2020 targets and have translated them into national targets and growth-enhancing policies. But only if the individual efforts of all the countries are coordinated and focused, can they result in the desired impact on growth. This is supported by the European Semester with all its mechanisms, including the analysis of macroeconomic imbalances and processing of in-depth reviews. This article summarizes the results of the in-depth reviews to assess the macroeconomic situation in the EU countries during the post-crisis period (2012 \u2013 2014) and identifies the main priorities for the economic development of the EU."@en .
