"The paper deals with quality label Klasa and its using on the Czech white beet sugar market. Firstly, the attention is given to white beet sugar products and its producers in the Czech Republic, followed by characteristics of Klasa label and summary of white beet sugar products awarded with this label. Nine products from two of the five companies operating on the Czech white beet sugar market won the Klasa label. In the second part of the paper, marketing research results are presented. The purpose of research study was to identify consumers\u00B4 awareness of Klasa label and their attitudes to the label. Data were collected with personal questioning method in the first quarter of 2012. Sample consists of 228 respondents over 18 years selected with quota sampling method. Empirical findings show that most of consumers are familiar with Klasa label and they perceive it positively, however only half of respondents prefer to purchase food products certified with Klasa label over non-labeled products. The results indicate the Klasa label potential to communicate with consumers effectively and provide them information that may affect their purchasing behavior and facilitate their choice of food products, but currently as a fundamental problem seems to be a lack of information about the label as perceived by consumers."@en .
