"This paper examines changes in international reserves stocks during post financial crisis periods. Financial crises have a large impact on macroeconomic development and consequently on behaviour of central banks. This paper analyzes the impact of the global financial crises of 1997 and 2008 on changes of international reserves when related to chosen exchange rate arrangement, GDP and to money supply. As to the exchange rate arrangements there is no provable pattern in central banks\u2019 behaviour as the individual countries are rather diverse though it is a fact that majority of countries raised their reserves in the post crisis period. The second part analyzes if there are different changes in reserves between developed and developing nations when measured by GDP per capita but finds no evidence. The final part finds enormous increase in the analysed ratio M2 to total reserves."@en . . "I" . "The Impacts of Economic Development on the International Reserves" . .
