"The paper deals with the selection of suitable locations for investments in the Ostrava Agglomeration by using multi-criteria decision making methods. The aim of this paper is not only to determine which of Ostrava Agglomeration districts is optimal for locating investments, but also to find a suitable methodology for particular territory evaluation. The first section focuses on a multi-criteria decision making methods description and the confrontation of different approaches for global decision criterions and weights setting. The application of chosen methodology, thematic realms and input data definition take place in the second part. Results of the opinion poll expert group consisting of Ostrava Agglomeration relevant investors and regional institutions representatives was used to determine the global decision criterions weights. The resulting values of the two approaches used shows that the significantly best area for investments locating in the Ostrava Agglomeration is Ostrava-m\u011Bsto district and significantly the worst is Karvin\u00E1 district. Fr\u00FDdek-M\u00EDstek, Opava and Nov\u00FD J\u00ED\u010D\u00EDn districts move approximately midway between the best and the worst area but there are differences in values and order, depending on the used approach."@en .
