"Correct adjustment of process of technology of ingot casting has a key role in terms of the requirements on the properties of cast ingot, associated especially with their inner quality. These require the precise understanding of the casting process and solidification of the ingot. Study of the high temperature properties of steel, the behaviour of the mould assembly from the perspective of heat transfer in a specified geometry, together with an overheating temperature of the steel, casting speed etc., are some of the critical parameters affecting significantly the final quality of steel ingots. The paper is devoted to a brief evaluation of the current possibilities of the study of high-temperature properties of steel and systems of the casting by both methods of thermal analysis and numerical simulations using possibly existing empirical relationships."@en . .
