"This article presents the possibility of utilization of mathematical methods in production planning of special steel structures. It examines the possibility of linking selected methods and tools from this area in order to create a complex system used to design a production program and, simultaneously, to count the material requirements for the determined production program. The objective of this article is to create the described system, to determine its inputs, outputs and internal links. The verification of the system in conditions of real practice allowed us to identify the main advantages, disadvantages and possible limitations of the system. The basic methods that are used in this system include Gozin to graphs, input-output analysis and allocation tasks of linear programming. Bills of materials represent the basic input information for the designed model. A set of bills of materials is processed using the method of Gozin to graphs, which provide the basic input for the application of input-output analysis. Selected input-output analysis outputs are later used as inputs for the application of allocation tasks of linear programming, which optimize the production program on the basis of various criteria or their combinations. The set of input-output analysis outcomes and the allocation tasks of linear programming can be used to create a production program and also to determine the material requirements of this program. The methodology designed for production planning of special steel structures was verified on the assortment of corkscrew stairs and their parts. The basic optimization criteria included the number of produced pieces, the produced weight, the capacity utilization, the profit, the capacity of warehouses, the customer requirements and their combinations.
