"We compacted Ni3Al powder tucked into steel tubes with external diameter of 20 mm by intensive deformation, induced by four rolling stands arranged closely to each other. Temperatures for reheating of samples were chosen in the interval from 900 to 1200 \u00B0C, finish rolling temperatures were measured within the range from 933 to 1146 \u00B0C. Thanks to the applied pass sequence we obtained round bars with diameter of approx. 12 mm. As it was confirmed by measurement of hardness and also by metallographic analyses, the achieved consolidation of powder was in all cases in such a degree that the core of the rolled product made of Ni3Al was compact and machinable. However, we did not manage in any of the cases to eliminate perfectly the occurrence of cavities between individual grains. Reheating temperature of 1000 \u00B0C appears to be the best from the viewpoint of resulting properties, as occurrence of cavities was the smallest at this temperature. Experiments confirmed usability and advantageousness of rolling of round bars on continuous sequence of the new laboratory rolling mill at compacting of powder tucked into tubes.
