"Intercalation of Al-oxohydroxo cations into the structure of clay minerals is the first step for the preparation of intercalated clays, which can be subsequently pillared at 400-500 \u00B0C. After several hours of heating they form a regular porous structure (pillared clays - PILC materials). They are also suitable for sorption purposes. This article is devoted to the study of the structure of Al-intercalates prepared from SWy-2 by intercalation Al-oxohydroxo cations with Chlorhydrol solution - Al2Cl(OH)5.(2.5 H2O) of molar ratio OH/Al 2.5 and concentration 60 mmol.l-1 of Al. These intercalates were prepared from different acidic environments (pH 1.5, 2.5 and 3.8). It was found that the highest amount of adsorbed Al in prepared Al-intercalates was achieved at pH values of 2.5 and 3.8, i.e. 1.95 and 1.88 mmol.g-1; at pH 1.5, it was only 0.73 mmol.g-1. Cation charge based on one atom of aluminum decreases with the increasing pH value from +1.15 to +0.45. Ideal Keggin cation [Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)12]7+, which could be intercalated into the interlayer of clay, has a charge of +0.54. Probably an intercalation occurs of this cation, as well as of its hydrolyzed forms. Al-intercalates have three endothermic effects (at around 75-100, at 630 and at 730 \u00B0C), as it was determined from DSC curves. With regard to the intercalation of Keggin cation, respectively its hydrolyzed forms, the amount of water increases. The temperature shifts of endothermic effects of Al-intercalates, were proved for Al-SWy-2 intercalates prepared in acidic pH range, in comparison with SWy-2. They are namely from 680 to 630 \u00B0C and from 760 to 730 \u00B0C. The valence bands of -OH Al-OH groups at 3682 and 3538 cm-1 were observed in the IR spectra of the Al-intercalates related to Al13 form.
